The fees assessed by the Department of Public Safety and Fire Safety will depend upon the event, equipment/tents used and crowd size. A Community Service Officer (unarmed) will cost $35.00 per hour, and a Public Safety Officer (armed) will cost $50.00 per hour. The need for these officers is evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

The Los Angeles Fire Department's main concern is with crowd size and the installation of tents. These fees will vary, and can sometimes be waived through the Los Angeles City Council, by request of the USC Fire Safety Office, when given ample notice.

The Office of Special Events will provide each event organizer a printed estimate that may be paid either by USC internal requisition, or by money order. These fees are due no later than 14 days prior to the event. The non-payment of any fees will result in a breach of contract and may cause the organizer to forfeit the use of USC facilities.
