MPN Summary

Welcome to the USC Medical Provider Network (MPN). Our MPN was approved by the State of California on February 24, 2005. Our MPN approval number is: 95-1642394-0396.

WHY THE MPN EXISTS

USC considers its employees to be our most valuable asset. Therefore we put a great deal of effort into creating a safe work environment. However, we recognize that occasionally an employee will become injured or ill while in the course and scope of his/her employment. When an injury occurs our philosophy is:

To get the employee prompt, first rate medical attention at a convenient location;
To return the employee to work as soon as possible;
To pay wage-loss benefits in a timely manner if necessary.

The Medical Provider Network has been created to meet the first two of these steps.

HOW THE MPN WORKS

Medical Provider Networks are governed by California law. To learn more about how they work and what your rights are under the law click here: http://www.dir.ca.gov/dwc/dwcpropregs/MPNReg.htm

If you have suffered an on-the-job injury or illness, and have not validly pre-designated your treating physician, you MUST see a medical provider from within the network. Follow these easy steps and click on the corresponding links:

YOUR FIRST VISIT

UPC
If you are an employee on the University Park Campus your first visit must be to the Student Health Center.

HSC
If you are an employee on the Health Sciences Campus, your first visit must be to Internal Medicine in the HCC II Building.

OTHER LOCATIONS
Please click on this link (to table) and it will reveal the name, address, telephone number, and the distance from where you work of the provider you should see.

SUBSEQUENT VISITS http://capsnet.usc.edu/wc/MPN/index.cfm

You may continue to treat with the first medical provider you see. However, you may also choose from the USC Medical Provider Network and seek treatment from other physicians within the MPN. To do so, please click on the above link. It will reveal all of the physicians in the USC MPN by specialty and location. You may choose an appropriate health care provider for your injury or illness and make an appointment for yourself.

PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT IF YOU TREAT WITH A PROVIDER OUTSIDE THE MPN THEN USC IS NOT REQUIRED TO PAY FOR THE TREATMENT, AND WE WILL NOT DO SO.
