Sustaincafe - The mtvU GE ecomagination Challenge asked college students from around the country to develop new, creative ways to green their campus, looking for innovative and groundbreaking ideas that can have a positive impact at the local level or the global level — or both. Among the top ten finalists for the first-ever mtvU GE ecomagination Challenge, a group of USC students proposed the SustainCafe coffee shop as a test-bed for campus sustainability and a demonstration site for innovative technology and programs. The aim was to reduce USC's consumption of water and energy and production of waste and empowers the campus and neighboring communities with information about sustainability and strategies for reducing your own impact.
