| The university maternity leave guidelines for a normal pregnancy call for up to 10 weeks of disability leave if medically certified. You may begin the leave no sooner than two weeks before delivery and no later than the date of delivery, except in cases where medical necessity dictates otherwise. All disabilities have a 7-day waiting period. This 7-day waiting period is included in, and not in addition to, the 10 week disability period. | Objective medical certification is required for pregnancies that require extended pre-delivery disability periods. In cases with pre-delivery complications, up to 10 weeks of benefits may be granted from the date of delivery, in addition to approved pre-delivery benefits |
